Machines equipped with the Product Containment System, or in line systems,
can be equipped to operate in an inert environment. This includes oxygen
sensors, control valves, inlet ports, controls, etc.
Spray nozzles can be supplied in strategic locations to wash away powder
as well as wet any dust. This controlled wetting of the product contact
parts prevents airborne dust during disassembly for final cleaning and
inspection.
The FitzMill feed throat can have ports or inlets for the injection of
LN2 or CO2. This process can be used to cool the feed material and make
it brittle. In the latter cases, it is possible to mill even flexible
materials by pre-cooling with a cryogen. Special materials of construction
are selected to prevent embrittlement to the equipment components.
